open set test a test in which the possible responses are not put before the person being tested – in contrast to closed set tests.

otitis media the most common of childhood diseases. Inflammation of the middle ear, due to eustachian tube dysfunction. This is associated with the secretion of fluid or pus into the middle ear.

Oto Acoustic Emission Sound emissions from the cochlea evoked in response to a sound (usually a click or tones). Often called 'cochlear echoes'.

ototoxic Hearing Loss ototoxicity is due to the administration of certain drugs and medications that damage the cochlea and/or vestibular portion of the inner ear.
