Mr Potato Head

The Potato Head task is a modified open-set test, which involves the use of the Mr. Potato Head toy and the accompanying 24 body and accessories parts.
The booklet outlines the task with two lists and a check list. The booklet is available in English, German or French together with the famous toy Mr. Potato Head.
Aim
The task assesses the recognition of key words and phrases (e.g. "Put shoes on Mr. Potato Head"). Performance is scored as the percentage of key phrases (n =10) or key words (n = 20), which are identified correctly.
Structure
This test requires object manipulation on the part of the child when asked various questions. Two lists of ten questions have to be presented using live voice and auditory cues only.
Target Group
This test can be used with children below 5 years old.
