Advanced Bionics invited clinicians to the International Meeting on Music and Cochlear Implants

In January 2010, over one hundred clinicians met in Budapest, Hungary for a conference on improving musical outcomes in cochlear implant users.

Leading scientific researchers discussed issues surrounding music signal processing. The benefit of wide input dynamic range, improvements with HiRes120 processing and the importance of preserving temporal fine structure were discussed. The real world benefits of advanced sound processing techniques were demonstrated by a lady who thought that music was lost with her hearing.

With bilateral Advanced Bionics’ Harmony implants and an AB music workshop she confidently began a new, exciting musical journey.

The second day addressed the development and implementation of AB habilitation resources which directly influence musical outcomes. Presentations from many European countries captured an exciting range of musical achievements by children and teenagers, playing, singing and dancing.

Advanced Bionics’ commitment to technological innovation and unique musical rehabilitation resources leads the way in real world performance.
